The Seminar "Production and utilization of agricultural biogas. State-of the art on production and utilization of agricultural biogas and possibilities of application of European experiences in Poland" took place on the 19th of June 2009 in the EXPO XXI Warsaw International Fair Centre.

According to the estimates of the programme “Innovative Agriculture, innovative energy” confirmed in the Polish Energy Policy to 2030 PEP2030: 2,500 biogas plants are expected to be built in Poland to 2020, whereasm, presently only 4 installations in the Zachodniopomorskie Voivodhip are running (by a Danish-owned meat producer Poldanor S.A.).

The Institute for Renewable Energy took actions to promote the biogas technology in Poland. On the European market countries such as Austria, Denmark, Germany and Sweden are forerunners of biogas application. Poland wants to benefit from their experiences. Our Seminar will create opportunity to present the latest technological achievements and development paths of the biogas sector, will enable the exchange of experiences among Polish and European companies and will present financing sources, which should attract new investors.
