Solar energy for camping sites

Welcome to the first edition of the SolCamp project newsletter.

With our European partners, under the leadership of the European Commission, we have been involved in a promotion campaign in Pomerania aiming at encouraging investment in renewable energy sources, in particular in solar energy.

We wish to draw the attention of camping site and holiday centre owners to a possibility of providing hot water in a cheap, safe, healthy, environmentally friendly and innovative way.

A solution proposed by us involves solar collectors. As camping sites operate in spring and summer, when solar collectors produce heat energy with the highest efficiency and hot water demand goes up, the use of solar collectors offers a chance to reduce water heating costs considerably. Solar advisors, that is designers of the installations, installers, auditor and energy advisors, will be helpful. You will find their list on page two. Our Polish partner in this project is the Polish Camping and Caravanning Federation (PFCC), which is an association of 97 % of camping sites in Poland. 

The PFCC is a social organisation active in Poland since 1964. A list of camping sites, ready to participate in the SolCamp project, can also be found in this newsletter.
